FREEBIE Buttercup

Buttercup

Buttercup is an oldie but a goodie. It would look amazing made with cost effective Cascade Ultra Pima, or you can go a bit more luxe and Quince & Co Sparrow or Louet Euroflax Sport. The recommended needle size is just a suggestion, you have to swatch first to get your gauge. Also, to get a gauge with linen always wash and dry first (machine wash in a delicates bag, dry until partially dry and lay flat).

One of the nice things about patterns that have been around a few years is they’ve been test driven and the wrinkles completely ironed out. You can also browse through all the other projects on Ravelry and see how it worked out for other people, what it looks like in different colours and yarns. You can also look at helpful notes that other people have written about their projects, which is especially useful is you plan to make modifications.

Notes

  • Cottons and linen yarns have a lot of stretch and ease when knit up.
  • Designed with a bit of positive ease.
  • Worked from the top-down.
  • Machine wash & dry linen swatches to get a proper gauge
