Knitting + Crochet Classes

Knitting + Crochet Classes

Sept 2013 to Feb 2014

Unless otherwise stated, you must pre-register for regular classes by paying the class fee beforehand.

At Knit-o-Matic we offer a variety of classes, in knitting, crochet, and needle felting. We teach all skill levels, from absolute beginner to experienced, and everything in between. We also teach all ages, including kids. Materials are not included in the price of our classes, but we sell and can provide everything you need, and you receive 10% off all materials during your class.

private classes

We can teach you anything you want to learn and help you with your projects! Private lessons are by appointment only (please call us ahead of time to make an appointment), Monday to Friday 11:30am to 4:30pm, $13.50/hour per person + materials and applicable taxes.

kids classes

We teach kids, but for a variety of reasons we don’t schedule children’s exclusive classes. Instead, we like to schedule kids for private lessons. You can pick the time that’s just right for your schedule, and the kids get the hands-on attention they need. Kids are usually ready to learn knitting around the time they’re 8 years old, or around grade 3. Children who attend Waldorf schools are usually ready around grade 2, due to the Waldorf curriculum’s focus on handwork. Kids who are a bit too young to knit and/or crochet don’t have to be left out, they often enjoy needle felting, and we can teach them that too.  We teach kids on their own, with their parents, or with a friend or two. To schedule a lesson call us at 416-653-7849, or e-mail us.

Crocheters already know how to crochet in the round, read and follow a pattern, increase, treble crochet, half double crochet. At this level, you are still expanding your knowledge of fundamental skills.
