World Wide Knit in Public Day Continues!

The Toronto Knitters Guild (TKG) had such a good time on World Wide Knit in Public Day on June 9th at the Wychwood Barns that they are going to keep going throughout the summer! I can attest, it was lovely and very relaxing knitting “Au Plein Air” (I’m on the far left in the picture, Rosie is on the far right). I don’t often get to go out and be a regular knitter, it was a real treat for me to be able to hang out with the lovely members of the guild and relax. Have a look at the TKG’s Flickr album with all the pictures from the day. If you aren’t already a member of the TKG, you should definitely consider it. Besides being a great way to meet other fibre enthusiasts, their monthly meetings have great speakers and vendors, they organize trips to out of town fibre festivals, and guild members get a discount at local yarn stores – yup, that includes us, Knit-O-Matic! To be honest, if you are a fan of nice yarn, the TKG store discounts will pay for your membership and more.

These events take place during the Farmers Market, so there’s lots of opportunity for shopping. (It’s a GREAT market, I’ve known the lady who runs it since I opened Knit-O-Matic, and her curation of vendors is discriminating and spot-on.) Goodies and treats are available for purchase, or you may bring your own snacks/beverage. Please bring a blanket or chair to sit upon, if possible. Looking for a project to take to the park or need some needles/stitch makers/etc? Knit-O-Matic is located at 1382 Bathurst St, literally ONE BLOCK AWAY from the Wychwood Barns.
