New: Berroco Peruvia Quick


Berroco Peruvia Quick $10.97
Peruvia Quick is a great yarn new to Knit-O-Matic. Similar to Cascade Eco+, Peruvia Quick is made in Peru from 100% Peruvia Highland Wool. It’s a bulky weight yarn that knits up quickly on 8mm needles (tension is 12 sts & 16 rows = 4″), and is very affordable at $10.97 for a 100g/95m skein. 1 skein is sufficient for a hat or mitts, 2 for a scarf or cowl, 5+ for a sweater, 10+ for a blanket.

Berroco Weekend Chunky $6.97
New to Knit-O-Matic, Berroco Weekend Chunky is a great summer bulky weight yarn. It is soft, easy to work with, machine washable, and ever so affordable. Made in Peru, it is a blend of Cotton and Acrylic (but not the icky stuff, just the happy variety), which makes it a lot lighter and bouncier than regular cottons. 

  • knitting gauge: 13 sts & 18 rows on 6.5mm needles  (3.25 sts/inch)
  • crochet gauge: 11sc & 14 rows with 6mm/J hook (2.75sc/inch)
  • 100g/110m

New Colours of Noro Taiyo!

New colours of Noro Taiyo came in this week, and they look great!  This bunch is for the most part more muted. As always with Noro, you really have to come in and check out the colours for yourself, the computer monintor never does them justice, and you never know what kind of goodies are lurking at the centre of the ball. 
  • 21:  Orange, Russet, Blue, Grey. It’s dark & moody like THIS
  • 23:  Blue, Turquoise, Lime, Orange. Maritime blues like THIS. 
  • 24: Blue, Green, Yellow, Burgundy. Autumnal and muted.
  • 29: Pink, Fuschia, Purple, Orange, Brown. Warm and comforting, like THIS
  • 30: Purple, Teal, Black, Cream.Pretty and surprising, little like THIS
  • 31:  Red, Lime, Orange, Pink. It is bright & stripy like THIS

Berroco Blackstone Tweed & Blackstone Tweed Chunky $11.50

Please welcome Berroco Blackstone Tweed & Blackstone Tweed Chunky to the store!  Both are a very happy,  lovely, and soft  blend of wool, kid mohair and angora – aka. great for making EVERYTHING!  Blackstone Tweed is a worsted/aran weight an knits on a suggested 4.5mm needle, and has some really great yardage, weighing in at a whopping 119m for it’s 50g! Blackstone Tweed Chunky works up on a 6.5mm needle for quick knits and is a very nice 50g/55m.  And there’s more good news! We have Berroco’s new pattern booklet for the Blackstone Tweeds and it’s Beautiful!
