Liv Cascade Avalon

Liv

Liv is a gorgeous cardie, but this project was more about the yarn. We’ve carried Cascade Avalon for a few years, and I’ve always felt that it was a bit underappreciated, mostly because it’s so unpretentious. But when the new shades for this season arrived I kind of fell in love with colour 34 Fawn. When I ordered it I thought it was a safe, neutral taupe, but when it arrived it turned out to be a very subtle mauve. I knew it would be beautiful worked up, and I also knew it would go unappreciated unless it was knit up – so we knit it up!

So I was right, the colour is wonderful, I love it! the texture is also great, it’s soft and plush; cosy, casual, and kind of sweat-shirty. The pattern isn’t overly involved, except for some short-row shaping for the front. It’s presently on the mannequin in the front window so everyone can see it, but I love wearing it around the store. Avalon comes in other pretty neutral colours including:
