The designers all have their unique styles and speak to many kinds of knitters. Now they come together to form a beautifully cohesive collection. You can find garments such as sweaters and cardigans and accessories like shawls and hats, with techniques ranging from stripes and stranded colourwork to cables and textured stitch patterns.

Aimée of La Bien Aimée started working on this book almost a year ago. With Worsted, she wanted to create a tangible way to connect with people through knitting and bring joy.
In Aimée’s own words: “I hope that you will welcome the adventure of casting on a new project from this book with perhaps some of that beloved yarn you have curated for your stash or why not go on a yarn escapade and mix Corrie Worsted with other yarns.”
Pom Pom Autumn 2021 collection celebrates trees: their roots, branches, and everything in-between! In their 38th issue, you can look forward to luscious cable patterns which mimic labyrinths of roots and statuesque boughs, clever colourwork and textures designed to imitate oft-overlooked plantlife, and patterns that reference the enchanted forests of fairy tales. Autumn is a transitional season, so alongside trusty pullovers and cardigans, you’ll find accessories which are perfect for furling in your coat pocket or rucksack for when the weather takes a chilly turn.
Burrow down into Issue 38 and you’ll find two articles, a tutorial, and a recipe in addition to nine knit and crochet patterns! Dawn Henderson invites us to introduce magick into our handicrafts by sharing her experiences of Hoodoo (or African American rootwork). Drawing on her expertise in microplastics, Tereza Pavlíková raises important questions about the textile industry and pollution, and Caitlin Ffrench demonstrates how you can make charcoal and ink from dried plant material! Issue 38’s knit and crochet garments will keep you toasty from the outside, but Fi Churchman’s ginger pudding recipe will warm you from within!
We’ve long admired Kiyomi and Sachiko’s talent to infuse unique and contemporary design details with classic knitwear styles, and we’re honoured to publish the twins’ first collaborative collection. Moon and Turtle contains nine knit designs (4 garments, 5 accessories) which showcase an edgy urban aesthetic, reflecting the twins’ life in Toronto / Tkaronto, Canada.
Much like Kiyomi and Sachiko themselves, Moon and Turtle is truly synergic. The duality associated with identical twins is thoughtfully and intelligently embedded into every aspect of the book. From the designs, to the authors’ musings, to the title of the book itself, there’s a quiet harmony in the idea that two things or people can be visually similar but also appreciably distinct.
The patterns are gender-neutral, graded up to a 62” chest, and contain body and sleeve length adjustments in the hope that this book can be enjoyed by many knitters for years to come. Playful colourwork, paired with simply constructed garments, means that Moon and Turtle is a fabulous step up from pattern books like Ready Set Raglan. Kiyomi and Sachiko’s sisterly affection for one another is clear and shines through their words and designs.
Modern Daily Knitting has been helping knitters since 2003. Now, they have distilled those years of teaching into the only book you need to start your knitting journey. There’s never been a how-to-knit book like this. It’s little. Smart. Encouraging. In 9 short lessons, with dozens of clear illustrations, we teach everything a new knitter needs to know and nothing they don’t. This is it. Skill Set gives you the keys to the kingdom.
The 9 Lessons Everything a new knitter needs to know, short and sweet. These lessons draw on decades of knitting experience by Kay and Ann.
Lesson 1: Supplies, Casting On, Knit Stitch, Binding Off Lesson 2: Purl Stitch, Combining Knits and Purls Lesson 3: Basic Shaping: Increases and Decreases Lesson 4: Knitting in the Round Lesson 5: Basic Lace and Cables Lesson 6: Basic Colorwork: Stripes, Stranding Intarsia Lesson 7: Finishing: Weaving in Ends, Seaming, Blocking Lesson 8: Patterns, Yarn, and Gear Lesson 9: Fixing Mistakes

Imagine the lingering doubt you might have when you can pick them up again: “What was I doing wrong after all these years of knitting?” “Will I get hurt again?” “Will I have to stop knitting forever to make this pain go away?” Maybe you’d like to be a faster, more efficient knitter, or a knitter who produces more projects, but you’re not sure what’s getting in the way.

New from Pom Pom Press, Knits About Winter celebrates the quiet magic of a snowy landscape, the meditative joy of creating cosy knits, and the beauty of unique yarn. A collection of 12 knitting patterns by Emily Foden, these designs capture the magic and mystery of winter, all featuring her distinctive hand-dyed yarns.
Emily moved to the small hamlet of Mooresburg, Canada, to set up her home and dye studio in a 100 year-old general store. In her remote location, winter meant layers of snow and ice, transforming the wild landscape into a sparkling blank canvas that became a valuable source of inspiration. Each pattern draws details from this wintry landscape: soft shapes in the snow, the moon in an icy midnight sky, the delicate evergreen berries. With careful consideration of practical design details that make these knits functional for the coldest of days, Knits About Winter features hats, mittens, socks, shawls, and four garments.
Also included are Emily’s charming stories of setting up her dye studio, as well as how she developed her colourways and the designs for the book. Photographed by the author during a snowy Mooresburg winter, each image is a peek into the scenery and spaces that were integral to the book.
Knits About Winter is a book to a treasure, and in the colder months will encourage you to find the beauty and colour in the darkest season, evoking the warm glow that only beautiful knits can.

The concept of Sequence Knitting is simple: take a sequence of stitches and repeat them again and again. Depending on how you repeat them, different fabrics can be created. While a few of these fabrics are familiar, many are new to the knitting world.
Beginning with 1-row patterns, the book delves into the possibilities of this technique, expanding into methods for creating complex designs that can be worked back and forth, in the round, or in shapes like triangles. The book includes stitch dictionaries with over 190 fabrics, many of which are new and reversible, as well as over 40 patterns for simple and elegant accessories.
Norah Gaughan combines her love of geometry and her mastery of innovative construction in Framework: Ten Architectural Knits, a collection of ten breezy pieces worked in Quince & Co’s organic linen yarns, Kestrel and Sparrow. From a summery little neck scarf to a godet-trimmed, shoulder-baring top to a free flowing open cardigan knitted in different directions, Norah’s collection offers ten projects that are a pleasure to knit and flattering to wear.
Framework delves into the underlying structure of her pieces—the simple rectangle—and how various knitting techniques transform this basic shape into new and interesting knitwear. Illustrated tips on essential techniques, such as yarnovers in knit and purl fabrics, short rows, twisted fringe, and more are also provided throughout the book.
